To affirm what exists without reason.

Artist Statement

I photograph to meet the shape of the world again.

Each picture is not a meaning but a trace of the act itselfโ€” the split second when the gaze drifts, light skims a surface, and the body responds before the mind decides. It records the interval in which contact occurs.

In a culture that demands clarity, I side with opacity. To look without knowing is a quiet refusalโ€” a way to let the world be present without turning it into a story I can own. What remains unnamed remains alive.

In an age when images can be generated from prompts without seeing, to photograph is to choose contact over result. It is to share space and time, to accept hesitation and slowness, to keep the time it takes for the body to move toward light. The camera is not a device for taking, but an instrument for listening.

My images are built from planesโ€”blinds, glass, water, painted walls. What stays on the surface are residues: scratches, reflections, stains, distancesโ€” not symbols, but sensory afterimages. Not decisive moments, but suspended time; the gestures of home and the edges of suburbia; the intervals where perception lingers.

For me, photography is a tool for pausing before understanding, to affirm what exists without reason. I would rather be with than speak for. What is fixed in the image is not memory but the light ash of seeingโ€” a faint proof of the will to share time with the world.
